Small domestic tragedy - repaired.
I know in the scheme of recent events, a broken flower pot should not cause grief. But there it was it was. We had carefully moved it to (we believed a sheltered spot) and despite all our care a last blast of winter had swept down to destroy it. This magnificent vessel had been created to give pleasure and help green things flourish. Something beautiful had ended.

Restoring the past?
Once was a little horse resting after his race, once there was an unknown painter who captured the scene. Now there is both you and me. Still viewing this picture, that reaches out to us through all this time.
Love, Love, Love Sportswear
If you are anything like me - someone who enjoys keeping fit but hates all the tight lycra malarky - this new collection from Enchanted England could be just the thing for you. Designed to allow you to step off your bike and into a café or hit the shops, these clothes will allow you to feel comfortable wherever you wear them.
On the rocks in stormy Cornwall?
Come to St Agnes, they said, it will be fun, they said. So we set out - avoiding Storm Ingrid on Thursday and Storm Chandra today. At one point on Bodmin Moor our car sensors alerted that they had insufficient light conditions to continue functioning. Abort mission, return to Hampshire
Fiery horses and other bees
A few weeks later I remembered the hive and decided it should be put away. I lifted up its lid and there was the most beautiful nest. It was composed of hay and feathers and the most tremendous heat emanated from it. Cautiously I investigated further and found it contained several baby field mouse babies.
Recent Trials…
As though his wig was hiding a little mouse of doubts that he has to muffle on a regular basis..
Fast Fashion - A Horror Story
How do you meet people? I once asked. Did they join classes, do something they enjoyed? Again, pitying looks. We go OUT, OUT. Going out out, it transpired, was getting dressed up to the nines, applying even more immaculate make up and buying new clothes and shoes. The new clothes cost around £10 and would be delivered within 12 hours. Boohoo and Misguided were the go to supplier[2]. They could supply the latest fashions for a startling low rate and swift delivery.
Spiders, like us
Keeping bees has been eye-opening. I am observing a detailed miniature world peopled by creatures that ‘seem’ to be reacting in a very different way to us mammals and yet…I hope you enjoy these spidery stories that have been taken from life, starting with The Spider In The Bath
Norfolk: broads and abandoned brides, plus a small miracle at the Walsingham Shrine.
We are surrounded by sunshine today - a beautiful June afternoon. But as a writer what can you do with such weather, your characters get hot, drink cider and fall into haystacks with gamekeepers.
Bad weather can offer so much more - here is an account of stormy times in Norfolk.
Hope you enjoy.
It’s raining cats and dogs
I hope you enjoy this little vignette of my late father’s encounter with Boris Johnson.

Enchanted Gifts for June
This month I have collated a collection of all the hares that can be found in Enchanted England.
Did you know that the collective noun for a group of hares is a husk? No! Neither did I until yesterday.
Spam
Unable to help myself, the sketch from Monty Python started to play through my head. SPAM, SPAM, SPAM etc. The assistant glanced up and saw the SPAM bubble above my head. She started to dissolve with unstoppable giggles and was in danger of falling into the hot fat while I shoved my scarf into my mouth to stop laughing out loud.
Beehave! - tales from the bee hive
This is an account of our first hive of bees that my husband and I cared for last year. We love them, but they can be moody and feisty. Yet when you observe them closely you see magnificent acts of kindness. Last week I noticed a bee, entangled in a cobweb who limped home to the hive’s landing board. It was rescued by its sister bees who patiently licked off the delicate threads until its legs were free enough for it to enter the hive.
The Lion & The Eagle
I am a writer and I sometimes think I should introduce myself with the phrase, ‘My name is Sarah, please be aware that you are not obliged to say anything but anything you do say may be taken down and turned into a short story format years from now.’
While I try to avoid identifying the source, the truth of the story, I hope, is retained.
