Revisiting the Mari Lwyd

I have just finished watching Small Prophets (BBC ) and it made me realise how much I miss the wyrd.

Old new year has come and gone and where are the Mari Lwyd at Chepstow?

Folklore and myths remind us that life is difficult, dark and it absolutely can’t be explained away by simple language structure. The unconscious lies deep within us and can not be governed by simple language structure; big, bigly, small, smally -simple solutions to complex problems. Never a good idea. Yet the wyrd creatures of magic and myth always somehow give us hope. The monsters and strange others are not always our enemy. We can and should co-exist.

So… I am modelling my own little Mari Lwyd in air dried clay- look forward to updating you when it’s finished.
