Time has abandoned this house that I cling to
Like the humans long before
They used to run barefoot across the grass
laughing with cheeks as pink as my petals.

But time has abandoned this house that I cling to
Like the glass fled windowpanes
when the fire swept throughout my walls
and burnt my roots to ash

Time has abandoned this house that I cling to
And Time has abandoned me, too.
My branches are brown and brittle
Crumbling, like this house that I cling to
