Princes in disguise - hop into springtime
Who does not love the familiar icons of spring, primroses, daffodils, forsythia and whitethorn blossom? They pattern our gardens, fields, hedges and parks with traces of yellow. They mirror the rays from our newly warming sunshine. They promise energy after months of draining damp or cold.
Still, to me the one sign of winter leaving is the bubbling mass of frogspawn the frogs leave in pools and ponds. Growing tadpoles wriggling within their clear pods are a rite of spring. They are fragile and joyful like the season.
